Erica of Ellston R96 Flush

• Erica of Ellston R96 is the dam of the famed Erica of Ellston T220 cow, who has quickly become the most recognized Hoover-bred female of all time.  T220 has already put four bulls in the Alta bull stud, including Bold Ruler, the lead-off bull in the 2025 Alta Genetics catalog.

• Erica of Ellston R96 is in a league of her own – she is the third consecutive Pathfinder donor cow in a row – an exceptionally rare find in the Angus breed today!  Her dam, M38, recorded 8-110 WR to be the highest indexing daughter of Erica of Ellston G366, the cow regarded as the best cow in the 97-year Hoover Angus history!  G366 presently has 5 daughter descendants that rank in the top 10 indexing cows of the Hoover herd.  Four direct daughters of G366 have earned Pathfinder designation as well as at least 3 other descendants. 

• R96 is the 5th top indexing cow in the Hoover herd with a whopping 5-111 wean ratio!  R96’s seven daughters sold by Hoover Angus have averaged $21,450 and her 10 sons have averaged $12,375!  Her daughter topped the 2025 Hoover Angus Sale selling to KDS Angus for $44,000 and her son by No Doubt topped the 2024 Hoover Angus Sale selling to Bruner Angus Ranch in North Dakota For $30,000.  R96 has produced 12 photo feature sons or daughters in past Hoover sales.

• Despite stealing a flush after each of her first 3 calvings, R96 still achieved an amazing 356 day calving interval!  This cow family exemplifies fertility.

• Numerous R96 progeny have come to the top of their crop for phenotype, weaning weight and IMF.  Her 2020 son was the #1 WW ET bull of his crop and went on to be the #1 yearling weight bull of the 2021 Hoover sale, where he was the Lot 1 featured bull and 3rd top-selling bull of the event.  The year prior, R96’s super stout son was the #1 IMF scanning bull of our sale.  R96 records an impressive 24-109 IMF ratio. 

• From the most prolific cow family at Hoover Angus, this cow family does a remarkable job year after year!  Six of the past 8 years, sons of the Ericas have been the Lot 1 bulls in our sales.  In our 2021 auction, of the 8 animals that hit the $20,000+ price tag, 6 of them were from the Erica cow family.  They have truly done a phenomenal job!
